Lorem Ipsum meaning

I am looking for a good template for my Visitors project. Unfortunately I am not a good designer, so I started to look around for an already-made one to modify.
Wandering around on templates sites I noticed that a lot of templates contain this “Lorem Ipsum” Latin text. I don’t know Latin, I recognize it but I don’t understand most of it, so I thought it was a good idea to google it.

It seems that this text was used since the invention of the printed text and that the author of it is Cicero (the author of the text, not of the print..eheh)
