    Clicking Ads and visitors retention

    By maurizio | June 1, 2007

Note: I’m not asking people to click my ads with this post!*
Today I noticed a slight increase on clicks of my AdSense ads. From 0 to 1. I mean 0 for days and days. Some days ago someone clicked one Ad. This is positive for me, because it means two things:

    • Ads are getting more related to my content. (Unlike AdBrite to the left which shows Poker stuff the few times I see them)
    • Readers are starting to browse around my site (and notice interesting ads)

The second point is the one that interest me more. Since day one, I started to link myself inside almost every post (like my famous Firefox Network Pipelining post ). I even started immediately to use the “Related Posts” plugin.

Having visitors browse your site is the most important thing of all. If you are trying to make money with your blog, the more the user browse your site, the more ads are shown to him. If, instead, you are like me and do not care about it (yet), a browsing user is an interested one. You have more possibilities that he’ll come back sooner or later.

*I added that note because I don’t want to be kicked out by AdSense.Remember. You must not ask people to click your PPC ads.

Very nice, Maurizio – I’m clicking all over the place!

      Just kidding!

Check my blog this weekend or so on a post about Kontera. I’m not sure if international folks can use them.

Did you sign up with them already?

      Paula

      No I haven’t.
What’s so special about it? (apart from the commission you’ll get if I register from your site :-) )
