Blogger and AdultFriendFinder spam
By maurizio | August 20, 2007
How “sad” is getting Blogger lately. Some nice spammer is creating a lot of blogs with just AdultFriendFinder and Cams related ads. If you press Blogger’s “next blog” button more than once, you’ll probably get at least once in one of those sites.
I noticed that because I’m adding Blogger sites to my Database. I’m probably adding sblogs. What is a sblog? It’s a spam blog.
The last one I’ve found it’s not just sex/porn ads; there is some content on it. I read two post then I simply put some words on google and I discovered they copied www.wipo.int : the “World Intellectual Property Organization”. Uhm..risky situation.. I wonder what could be happening if they decide to hunt down the spammers. :-)
Anyway I think Blogger should start to monitor blog(ger) with AdultFriendFinder stuff and see if they are Ok. I think they can easily close all blogs with AFF on it.
I can’t even flag them myself because the blogger bar disappeared.
:(
Edit: I tried again to see random Blogger blogs and I saw again 2 other sblogs by pressing the button just 4 times. so 50% of possibilities. I noted a counter down on the pages which redirect to a Chinese site. So forget about getting them.

Taking a hard line on fighting spam automatically can have some drawbacks, because there is also the possibility of false positives.

That’s true. BUT:
99% of the sblogs I saw have AFF ad at the top of the page.
99% of them use the olive-green theme.
They should disable those sites and send an email to the users. If the blog has more than 100 readers, they should probably have a look first.
I’ve checked again for another hint and I’ve found he always use the same stats account. So you just need to look for this:
w w w.51.la/?638280
(I’ve found a black site with it so my olive-green rule isn’t enough)

I wonder how these guys (or dolls) automatically create these spam blogs on Blogger?
I wonder if that’s what Blogger is working on right now…
So curious.

I notice that at the top of each blogger blog there’s a “flag this” button that you can click to report objectionable material…have you tried that?
Claudia (thanks for visiting my blogs!)
