BloggingToFame is spamming me!

Well, not really. It’s just a heading to attract readers…I hope.

The annoying thing is that I got a spam to an email address I used only to register my blog in BloggingToFame.com. I checked their site yesterday and I discovered my email address on a public page! How come!
So, there are three possibilities:

1. They added the “show email” option after I registered
2. The option is so hidden that I haven’t noticed it
3. I saw it but somehow I forgot to set it to “no”

I am 100% sure I haven’t set it to “yes” so I confident to say that BloggingToFame did something wrong. For all the three options I mentioned, the common part is that is set as default value to “yes”. There are some cases where people want to show their email address, but I bet most of the blogger doesn’t like that option.

If you are registered to their site, go there and check if your email is visible. Chances are that it’s visible and the spam you are receiving started from there.

Please note that “started from there” doesn’t mean that they are spammer. It just means that they are showing your email address and some spammer spidered their site to get your email address.
